Why clinical trials matter for HS
For many years, people with hidradenitis suppurativa had few treatments that were formally tested and approved for the condition. Clinical trials changed that. Carefully designed studies are how a promising idea becomes evidence — and how that evidence eventually becomes a treatment a doctor can prescribe.
Trials also protect patients. They measure not only whether a treatment helps, but how often side effects occur, so benefits and risks can be weighed honestly. Some trials show that a treatment does not work well enough, which is just as important to know.
